Stop by a practice at the handball courts at the K, at one of our events, or simply reach out to us!
Practice times:
Monday and Wednesday 7-9 pm
Tuesday and Thursday 1:30-2:20 pm
Handball courts are located through the first door on the right down the right hallway after entering the K.
Handball was once rated nationally as the best sport to increase overall physical fitness. Handball builds strength, coordination, balance, endurance, and it has been found to burn more calories per hour than almost all other sports including football, basketball, baseball, and soccer.
Whether it's your first time playing, or you've been playing your whole life, you'll be part of one of the most welcoming communities in sports. All players no matter skill, age, or background are treated as equals. You'll have a great time with the UWM team as well as making connections with other players at regional and national tournaments from all over the country and maybe even other pro players!
The rules are simple (hit the ball against the wall before it bounces twice) and the equipment is minimal (you'll need eye guards, gloves, and a ball which will be provided by the club), so starting your first game is easy. However, once you get going, you'll find it's not as easy as it looks. If you like a challenge, this is the perfect game for you!
The UWM team has proven to be a force on the national stage despite none of the players playing before college. Seven UWM players have already won a National Championship. Will you be next?
Each year the United States Handball Association (USHA) gives away thousands of dollars to collegiate handball players for a variety of different reasons. Most recently senior Kerington Sauser was awarded $2,500 for the Mardak Scholarship at the 2024 Collegiate Nationals.
